I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on March 5th 1959 and was sent to MCRD, San Diego California for Boot Camp. After a brief leave home I was sent back to San Diego for Aviation Electronics training. In November 1959 I was sent to Marine Corps Air Station, Iwakuni, Japan where we conducted operations in Korea, Okinawa and Taiwan. Returned to the States in February 1961 where I was stationed at MCAS Eltoro, Santa Ana California. In October 1962 I was deployed with the 5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade as part of the Invasion Force sent to Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Returned to the States in December 1962. Released from active duty in March 1963 and discharged in March 1965.
