I went to Fort Ord, California for Basic Training then to Fort Eustis, Virginia for helicopter maintenance and to be a door gunner. I was then sent to Dong Tam South Vietnam. I was with the 162nd AVN. Co. Assault Helicopters (Vultures). We used the Hucy-UHI. We supported the 9th Infantry Division until they left in 1969. We then moved to Can Tho and supported ARVN Troops. I was in Vietnam from January 1969 until March 1970.
