John Reese “Jack” McArthur, age 81, of Roosevelt passed away August 17, 2011 at the University of Utah Hospital after a stroke.
Jack was born November 1, 1929 in Logan, Utah, to John William and Moselle Reese McArthur. He married Jennie Veve “Peggy” Gray on December 17, 1951 in Salt Lake City, they were sealed February 14, 1964 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They shared 59 wonderful years together.
Jack joined the Naval Reserve while still in high school and served 4 years, he then joined the Army and served 2 years during the Korean War.
Jack loved to travel, especially to his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed watching the Utah Jazz, was an avid reader, and delighted in Louis L’Amour and Zane Grey books. He had a wonderful sense of humor, fun smile and liked to tease.
He was active in the LDS Church serving as Sunday School President, finance clerk, home teacher and as a member of the High Priests. For many years Jack and Peggy transported vehicles for Murray Motor, they enjoyed traveling and spending time with together.
