I enlisted in the Army after serving an LDS Mission, at age 22. After Basic and Advanced Training as a Military Policeman, I was sent to Germany where I was assigned to Co B, 385th MP Bn. I was posted to Schwaebisch Gmuend where we had two squads. I worked there as an MP Patrolman where we handled Law Enforcement activities for all Military personnel, on Post and in the Town and surrounding area. The main unit we were covering was a Pershing Missile Brigade. After attending Investigations School, I was transferred to the 31st MP Detachment and sent to Neu Ulm as an Investigator. There were two Investigators assigned there and we worked on Investigations in the area, again covering more Pershing Missile troops. We were in civvies and had a lot of fun working drug cases at night in this town. The troops called us Starsky and Hutch for some reason.
